In 2002, the European Commission engaged Great Place to Work® to initiate a government-sponsored Best Companies list competition in some 15 European countries. More than a decade later, lists currently include the Best Large Workplaces, the Best Small & Medium-Sized Workplaces and the Best Multinationals in Europe. Publication of these lists is part of the Commission’s strategy to support the European economy with successful businesses, desirable workplaces and thriving communities that will bolster European business competitiveness.
Multiple opportunities for recognition
Today, we produce country Best Companies’ lists that are published in leading national European magazines and newspapers. Several national lists also include specialized recognition for companies based on their size, industry, support for diversity, and other factors.
Our European best workplaces research now forms the largest study of organizational culture excellence and people management practices in Europe. The findings reflect the workplace experience of over 1.5 million European employees, and are part of Great Place to Work global studies in over 45 countries around the world.
