2020 Best Workplaces in Latin America List Methodology

Great Place To Work® identifies the top organizations that create great workplaces in the Latin America region through publishing the annual Best Workplaces in Latin America list. List determinationsare based on thorough analysis of confidential employee feedback through the Trust Index™ survey and a Culture Audit™ examining company practices. Thelist recognizes companies in three size categories: Small & Medium (20 –499employees); Large (500+employees); and Multinational.

To be considered for inclusion, companies must appear on one or more of our national lists in the region, which includes Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador,Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.

Multinational organizations must meet the following requirements: 1) Have at least 1,000 employees worldwide, with at least 40% (or 5,000) of those employeesbased outside the headquarters country and 2) Appear on at least three national lists. Multinationals also receive additional credit for their efforts to successfully create an excellent workplace culture in multiple countries in the region. The data usedin the calculation of the regional list comes from national lists published in 2019 and early 2020.

Where you can use Best Workplaces in Latin America list logo:
Only companies recognized as one of the 2020 Best Workplaces in Latin America can use this logo. The logo cannot be used by these same companies in a country in which their company is not recognized on that country’s Great Place To Work® list. For example, if Company X is listed in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Ireland, and Germany, that company could use the logo only in those countries. And, in this case, Company X would not be allowed to use the logo in the UK.

However, if company X wants to use this logo in an international, global or corporate campaign, it can do so if it mentions the countries (i.e., in this case, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Ireland, and Germany), in which it is recognized as a great workplace by Great Place To Work®.

Our Methodology

Great Place To Work® identifies the top organizations that create great workplaces in the Europe region through publishing the annual Best Workplaces in Europe list. The list recognizes companies in four size categories: Small (Under 50 employees);  Medium (between 50 and 500 employees); Large (more than more than 500 employees); and Multinational. To be considered for inclusion, companies must appear on one or more of our national lists in the 19 countries represented on the list (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, The Netherlands, United Kingdom). 

Multinational organizations must meet the following requirements: 

  1. Have at least 1,000 employees worldwide, with at least 40% (or 5,000) of those employees based outside the headquarters country and
  2. Appear on at least three national lists. 

Multinationals also receive additional credit for their efforts to successfully create an excellent workplace culture in multiple countries in the region. The data used in the calculation of the regional list comes from national lists published in 2018 and early 2019.
